Songs are being sung – words are almost there – costumes being created for all the characters, including the cat – this is the January regular for Forum Players. This is panto and it’s Dick Whittington, both are on their way to delight Bourne End audiences.

This is a traditional panto with Dick, our hero, off to London and hoping to make his fortune. Along the way he meets a girl and falls in love, has to cope with challenges, idiots and the typical panto baddie who turns goodie by the end of the show.
The approximate duration is 2hrs including an interval.
Forum Players are a part of Bourne End Community Association and have been producing pantomimes for over 50 years “oh no they haven’t – oh yes they have!!”
Tickets are available online (follow the link above) or from Bourne End Community Centre office (weekdays 3pm – 4pm)

Hello to all friends and members
Thanks to everyone who came to the panto meeting on Wednesday.
It was great to chat to existing members and to welcome new faces too. We had a really fun and positive evening. For those of you who couldn’t make it, there will be another opportunity to come along and for a script reading evening on Wednesday 1st September at 8pm, again at the Bourne End Community Centre, main hall.
I am pleased to announce that we have chosen ‘Dick Whittington’ for our next panto. Everyone enjoyed the script when we read Act 1 and all agreed that we didn’t need to read any others. Quoting one of our friends at the meeting, George Apap, the title immediately tells you it’s a pantomime.
If anyone would like to receive a copy of the script in an email, please get in touch with our Director, Wendy: firstname.lastname@example.org
Wendy has also asked me to share that we would love to get a small chorus of young people, say 8 – 12 yrs approx. for a junior chorus which has some real action in the script, as well as a general chorus/ensemble. If you know of anyone then please pass this on. In terms of rehearsals, they would only be needed initially on Wednesday evenings, from 1stDecember, and would be finished by 9pmAs mentioned above, we are meeting on Wednesday 1st September for another read through to give everyone a chance to think about what they would like to audition for. The casting meeting will be on Wednesday 8th September, more details to follow. After that we would like to commence rehearsals from 13th October, just Wednesday evenings until 29thNovember. Mondays and Wednesdays thereafter. Wendy will share a full rehearsal schedule as soon as this is ready.
Finally, a quote from Wendy ‘really looking forward to this production’. We are too Wendy!
Chairman, Forum Players.
